Wine Shelving Guide

A perfect addition to a wine connoisseur that wants to display their wine collection

For the wine lover, the most optimal place to store your wine would be in a basement or wine cellar.  The more practical storage though is going to be through using either a wall mounted or free standing shelf for your vino though.

Some things to think about
  • Size of the wine glasses you are using-  Many wine racks will claim that it can hold up to a certain amount of glasses.  In reality, the amount it can hold will largely depend on what types of wine glasses you are using.  For instance, standard wine glasses may easily fit in a wine rack.  But those oversized red wine glasses may not fit at all.
  • Size of the wine bottles on the shelf– Once again, wine shelves are made for the “standard” wine bottle.  If you have larger wine bottles, they will likely not fit within the placeholders.
  • Size of your wine collection–  Another factor can be the size of your wine collection itself.  While a free floating wine shelf looks good behind a bar, it will likely only hold so much.  A better option for a larger collection would be to store it in a free standing wine rack;  if it is modular, that’s even better.
