Blu Dot Chicago Low Boy

It's not difficult to see why Blu Dot won awards for its inaugural "Chicago" series. Featuring clean, crisp lines and an attractive use of negative space, this "low boy" shelving unit will add style and substance to any room it graces.

Available in either a maple, graphite-on-oak or cherry finish, the Chicago Low Boy's shelves provide plenty of space to display books, media, photographs and decorative pieces, while the top of the unit could be used for storing larger items like a TV or audio components.

Modern, sleek and contemporary are just a few adjectives that reviewers described this shelf from Blu dot. The only negative citation was the length of the shelf itself.

    The Pro's

    • Available in multiple colors
    • Minimilistic style that uses "negative" space for the room
    • 13 inch width allows it to be perfect for a smaller room that wants storage space without taking up too much space

    The Cons

    • The shelf is not as long as some desire

    Our Opinion

The Chicago series from Blu Dot mixes in art with function, using negative space to highlight the shelf. The shelf could be used for a variety of things and the depth of the shelf itself is just over a foot deep, making it perfect for setting a large flat screen on top or simply a place to display decorative pieces, photographs and art work.
